For the Observation and Experiment module of the MA in Children’s Book Illustration I’m studying, we have been focusing on tonal values. I’ve been looking closely at tone in the world around me, and been thinking about how to portray tone in drawings from life.
As part of my research I’ve been studying images that have interesting and inspiring approaches to using a spectrum of values with a variety of perspectives and treatments. Thought I’d share these images in case they are of interest!
